SMPD Officers assigned to the Downtown Services Unit responded to a call about a subject who was trespassing in a building on the 1400 block of 7th St. Upon arrival, Officers recognized the subject from previous calls and noticed he was attempting to get back inside the building. Officers ultimately detained the individual and spoke to witnesses. Witnesses relayed that the custodial staff had found the subject in one of the vacant apartments and he had told her he did not need the apartment cleaned. Further investigation found items belonging the suspect inside the apartment. Andre M Lewis was arrested for 602(m) PC- Trespassing and 148(a)(1)PC- Resisting Arrest.
