On Tuesday, January 26 7:29 p.m.
SMPD Officers responded to a call about a theft at Surf Liquor store. The comments of the call indicated that the reporting party was following two individuals who had just stolen beer from the store. Upon arrival, Officers noticed two individuals running while breaking bottles of beer behind them. Rafael Juarez Dominguez and Alejandro Ilario Lopez were detained and exhibited signs of intoxication as they were unable to remain standing and had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. Juarez and Lopez were eventually arrested for 459.5 P.C Shoplifting and 647 (f) P.C Drunk in public. Due to Covid-19 guidelines, both individuals were ultimately issued a citation and released.
