Officers responded to the area of 400 block of Santa Monica Pier to handle a radio call of a male suspect who had punched an employee in the face. Other employees and Harbor Guards were holding down the suspect. The victim suffered a laceration to his face. The suspect was placed under private person’s arrest. Steven Daniel Vavrick, 41, was arrested for battery and a warrant. Bail was set at $35,000.
