On August 4, at approximately 06:45 a.m. at 1344 3rd Street
A suspect was captured on CCTV footage forcing entry into the building by pulling on the rear door. Once inside the building the suspect forced entry into multiple suites on the 3rd floor. The suspect can be seen in screen shots taken from the CCTV footage. The suspect is seen leaving the location with a backpack that was taken from one of the burglarized suites. Detectives completed a search of the suspect using the Los Angeles County Booking photograph system. The search determined the suspect to be Abraham Garcia- Rivera, who had been arrested by Beverly Hills Police Department on August 4, 2019 at approximately 1507 hours. On August 20, 2019, SMPD was notified by the LAX Courthouse that Abraham Garcia Rivera was being released from custody from his Beverly Hills arrest. SMPD responded to the courthouse and took custody of the suspect. Abraham Garcia Rivera, 32, homeless, was arrested for burglary. Bail was set at $20,000.
