On December 31, 2016 at about 12:58 p.m.
Officers were flagged down by a subject riding a bicycle at Main Street and Pico Blvd for assistance. The subject told officers he was being followed by someone for several blocks. Officers spoke with the second subject and told officers that he was following him because the subject was riding his bicycle and had been reported stolen in 2014. Officers conducted a computer check of the bicycle and discovered the bicycle was stolen in 2014 but not by the second subject. The second subject left. The suspect was taken into custody for being in possession of a stolen bicycle.
Michael Anthony Etcitty, 50, from Venice was arrested and issued a citation for possession of stolen property.
