On Nov. 8 at about 3:16 p.m.
Officers were dispatched to 170 Hollister (Parking Lot 11) regarding a “stolen vehicle just occurred” radio call. Officers made contact with the victim who said she forgot her credit card inside a restaurant in the 2400 block of Main St. so she parked her car and left in running and unlocked. About two to five minutes later, she came back to the parking lot and saw the suspect driving out of the parking lot. The victim ran up to the vehicle, slammed her fist on the vehicle, and yelled for the suspect to exit the car. She then ran in front of the car. The suspect reversed the car and parked in a stall. She ran up to the window and started yelling at the suspect. The suspect then ran away southbound on Neilson, where he was located by responding officers. The suspect did not originally listen to officers commands to stop, and when he was placed in the vehicle, he refused to come out to be identified. Once officers were able to get him out of the patrol vehicle, the suspect was positively identified by the victim.
Alberto Rodriguez, 24, had bail set at $25,000.
