PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY – Santa Monica police are asking for the public's help as they search for an 8-year-old boy and his mother, who authorities say abducted the child after losing custody of him last year.
On Wednesday, March 6, Jounel Armon Taylor, who lives with his grandmother, spent the night with his mother, Adriana Joriel Johns, 27, who was supposed to take him to school in the morning, said Sgt. Richard Lewis, spokesman for the SMPD. Instead, Johns, who lost custody of her son in December to her mother, fled with the boy to an unknown location and has stopped communicating with the grandmother.
Taylor is described by police as an African-American with a medium complexion, 4 feet tall, 100 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
Johns is described by police as an African-American female, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 145 pounds with medium brown hair and brown eyes. She is not known to have a vehicle and her whereabouts are unknown, Lewis said.
