Dear SMMUSD School Board,
I read the SMDP Friday Crime Watch and was disturbed to know that our Samohi students were threatened with a gun near Seventh and Pico on May 23. My children walk that way to and from the high school. Samohi should demand a stepped-up patrol around the high school. The school day does not end at 3:30 p.m. My son finishes at 7 p.m. most nights. This gang member brandished a gun near the high school. We already had a shooting within two blocks of the high school. Why are you waiting for worse to happen?
