The American Red Cross of Santa Monica and 95.5 KLOS radio are co-hosting their 30th annual blood drive Friday, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
People 17 and over in good health who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood, according to a statement released this week. Individuals as young as 16 can donate if accompanied by a parent.
Santa Monicans can call 1-800-RED-CROSS, or 1-800-733-2767, to make an appointment. Blood donors must have a form of photo identification on hand.
Participants will receive a free T-shirt, queso appetizer from Chili’s, and a concert voucher to one of four concerts at the Greek Theater: George Thorogood on July 31; Yes and Styx on Aug. 2; Hippiefest on Aug. 4; or Cheap Trick on Sept. 23. Individuals may also get a voucher to the Judas Priest/Thin Lizzy show at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino on Oct. 22.
Concert tickets will be provided to individuals with appointments on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last, according to the statement.
