SAMOHI — Fresh off a share of the Ocean League baseball title, the Santa Monica High School Vikings will begin the playoffs on the road against Quartz Hills.
Pairings for the California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section Division 3 playoffs were released Monday and have the Vikings kicking off the first round at Quartz Hills on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
The Vikings finished the season 15-11 overall and 8-2 in league. Quartz Hills finished the season by winning the Golden League with a 17-9 overall record and 13-1 league mark.
Xrds baseball to open playoffs at home
Crossroads’ baseball team will open the playoffs on Friday at Clover Park against Viewpoint at 3:15 p.m.
The Crossroads Roadrunners, winners of the Delphic League, finished the season 15-7 overall and 8-0 in league.
Viewpoint won a share of the Liberty League title with a 7-1 league record.
The CIF-SS Division 6 playoff game will be the second matchup between the two teams. Xrds won the first meeting, 5-3 in March.
St. Monica draws Heritage
The St. Monica Mariners, the second place team from the Camino Real League, will open the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs against Heritage on Thursday on the road.
St. Monica finished the season 15-10 overall and 9-6 in league. Heritage finished second in the Mountain Pass League with a 11-3 league mark.
The game will begin at 3:15 p.m.
New Roads returns to playoffs
After a one-year absence, the New Roads Jaguars baseball team returns to the postseason.
New Roads will begin the CIF-SS Division 7 playoffs at home Thursday against Dunn High School, the third place finisher in the Condor League.
New Roads finished the season winners of the Harbor League with a 5-1 league record.
Pacifica makes second straight playoffs
Pacifica Christian’s second place finish in the Heritage League has earned the Seawolves a spot in the CIF-SS Division 7 playoffs.
The Seawolves will open the postseason at home against Hope Centre Academy on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
Pacifica Christian finished the baseball season 13-5 overall and 7-3 in league. Hope Centre is the second place finisher in the Freedom League.
