A woman was struck by a motorcycle while walking in a crosswalk at the corner of 18th Street and Wilshire Boulevard around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
The motorcycle rider noticed the pedestrian and jumped off the bike, hoping to have it slide to a stop before hitting the woman, but the plan failed, police said. The bike slid and struck the woman, causing serious, but non life-threatening, injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The accident is under investigation. No criminal charges were filed as of Tuesday evening.
