The Santa Monica Police Department is investigating a body found in the 1100 block of 6th Court on suspicion of murder. Officers have the area of the alley between Reed Park and 6th Street closed to traffic while detectives are working the case.
Residents of the area said the body was found with what appears to be a stab wound to the chest in the early morning hours of Friday, Sept. 6. SMPD confirmed they are investigating a homicide case involving a possible stabbing. Lt. Erika Aklufi said the victim appears to be homeless.
The investigation is ongoing and additional details will be provided when they are available.
