On December 9, at about 2:30 p.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service at 5th Street and Colorado Blvd regarding a fight in progress involving two male subjects. Officers arrived and were unable to locate the involved subjects. A witness was able to provide updated information and the involved subjects were located in the 200 block of Colorado Blvd. An investigation revealed the victim was walking southbound on 5th Street when the suspect unprovoked began to yell at the victim. The victim attempted to walk away from the suspect. The suspect punched the victim in the face two times. The victim fled westbound on Colorado Blvd as the suspect followed closely behind. The victim was desirous of prosecution. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Erik Seigrist, 36, homeless, was arrested for assault and battery. Bail was set at $20,000.
