On June 26, at 11:30 p.m.
The victim was walking to her car in the area of 5th and Pacific St, when she heard footsteps behind her. She noticed the suspect walking behind her and mumbling to himself. The victim got into her car and locked her doors. The suspect went to the passenger side door and tried to open the doors but they were locked. The victim drove off and called 911. She returned to the area to see if she could find the suspect. She was able to locate him again and he walked towards her car. She left the area and flagged down responding officers. Officers were able to locate the suspect in the area. Mark Ford, 54, from Santa Monica, was arrested for tampering with a vehicle and a parole violation. He was denied bail.
