NEWHALL, Calif. — For the third week in a row Santa Monica football fell to one of SoCal's finest, this time in a 41-7 loss at Hart on Friday.
Hart raced out to a 27-0 lead before Samohi finally got on the scoreboard when wide receiver Sebastian LaRue caught a short pass from quarterback Ryan Barbarin and streaked down field for a 70-yard score.
That was all Samohi could muster against Hart, which improved to 4-1 with the victory. Samohi falls to 2-3 as the Vikings prepare to begin Ocean League play next Friday at Morningside.
This latest setback follows big losses to Valencia and Mater Dei, both considered among the top programs in the region.
