Santa Monica police responded Saturday afternoon to a bomb threat at the Santa Monica Pier that was later determined to be not credible.

Officers from the Santa Monica Police Department arrived at the scene at approximately 5:30 p.m. and conducted a sweep of the area with specialized units. The investigation concluded that the threat posed no danger.

The pier remained open throughout the assessment and no injuries were reported. Police said the public should expect an increased officer presence in the area as a precaution.

Anyone who observes suspicious activity is asked to call 911 or the SMPD non-emergency line at 310-458-8491.
