Hoedown Throwdown: Country Line Dancing at the Annenberg Beach House: Fans of country music and dance can two-step into the sunset with the first-ever Hoedown Throwdown offering free lessons and open dancing. SoCal group Tina Michelle and the Rhinestone Cowgirls will light up the courtyard with music, step by step instruction, followed by open dancing. Event schedule: 6-7:30pm. Night Market at The Bungalow: This is the last night of this summer series of events with food vendors, beverage activations, family-friendly activities, live musical and DJ performances, and celebrity guest appearances. Waves and Curls "They Not Like Us" Beach Takeover: Get ready for a fun beach day celebrating wellness and community with the Waves and Curls Beach Takeover powered by Nappywood. Sunday, Sept. 1, 11am–8pm at Crescent Bay Park 2000 Ocean Ave. More info here.
Americana in the Park: Head over to Gandara Park for this annual music concert series featuring two bands each week every Sunday in September. Bring your picnic, blankets, and beach chairs to soak up the sounds of Americana music, from its roots to modern forms. Enjoy craft activities for all ages, tasty treats from local food trucks, and a vibrant community experience in Gandara Park, 1819 Stewart St. Sunday, Sept. 1, 4pm–7pm features a sing-along free-for-all with McCabe’s Hootenanny Collective opens with Dustbowl Revival headlining with booty shaking soul roots music and cut-to-heart folk-rock ballads. Pasjoli Summer of Sous Series: Throughout August, the Michelin-starred Main St. staple is showcasing their "talented team of sous chefs who are in the kitchen with Chef Dave each night" by letting them "take over the Pasjoli kitchen for one night to showcase their own personal cooking style & influences." EaterLA Profiles New Edgemar Restaurant at 2435 Main St: "The gorgeous new Edgemar takes over a warehouse space in a Frank Gehry-designed development" and that its "natural light, historic ambience, and thoughtful design bring a refreshing new grown-up restaurant along Main St." with a menu drawing from various international cuisines, including Japan, India, and Southeast Asia, owing to the Chefs' time in London and upbringing in Malaysia. "London has been a huge influence on my life and I’m so excited by the fluidity of the menus and multicultural dishes," says Dowling.
