On July 25 at about 3:46 p.m., Santa Monica police officers responded to a radio call for service at Tilly's, 1426 3rd St., regarding a possible armed robbery.

The suspect was located and detained in the 200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. An investigation revealed the suspect entered Tilly's store and grabbed a pair of scissors from front register.

The suspect selected merchandise and walked into the fitting room. The suspect removed the security sensors form the clothing and exited the store without paying for the merchandise.

The suspect next walked into Chili Beans, 1416 3rd St., and removed merchandise from there as well.

The suspect, Amanda Dale Jones, 30, homeless, was taken into custody and booked for shoplifting and commercial burglary. Bail was set at $500.

Note: Crime Watch is culled from reports provided by the Santa Monica Police Department. These are arrests only. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
