A Santa Monica police officer assigned to the HLP Team was patrolling the embankment at the 1000 block of the I-10 freeway and saw two homeless men in a makeshift camp site. The officer issued a citation to one of the men, but the other one said he had no identification. The man also gave the officer a false name and birthdate. When the officer was able to finally get the man's true identity, a search of his criminal record showed he had a “No Bail” warrant for his arrest. The man was then taken into custody and booked at the Santa Monica jail.

The suspect was identified as Jefferey Roddenberry, 57, homeless, and was charged with false identification and flash incarceration. No bail was set.

Note: Crime Watch is culled from reports provided by the Santa Monica Police Department. These are arrests only. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
