Incident of the day

On March 20, officers responded to the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Bay Street for a complaint of loud music coming from a parked car. Officers found the car with the door open and a man seated in the driver's seat, slumped over the steering wheel. They also saw an open can of beer in the center console of the car.

Officers had the man exit the car for further investigation and observed symptoms of intoxication. When officers attempted to conduct a pat-down search of him, the man resisted and refused to cooperate with the officer's commands.

The officer gained control of the man and placed him under arrest for resisting, public intoxication and outstanding warrants. Edward Gonzales, of Los Angeles, had bail set at $25,000.
