Sunday, May 22, at 6:55 a.m.,
Santa Monica police officers were on patrol in the 1300 block of Stanford Street when they saw a gold Lexus RX commit a traffic violation. Officers pulled the driver over to issue a ticket. They asked for the driver’s ID, but he did not have one. Officers determined the driver was on parole for narcotics and believed he was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and booked for being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was identified as Peter Carmine Goller, 45, of Los Angeles. His bail was set at $25,000.
Saturday, May 21, at 10:32 p.m.,
Officers were on patrol on the 800 block of Grant Street when they spotted a woman whom they believed was unable to care for herself. Officers made contact with the woman, who said that she recently smoked crystal meth and produce a glass pipe that was in her possession, police said. Officers placed the suspect under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia. She was identified as Marissa Alea Price, 19, a transient. Her bail was set at $250.
Saturday, May 21, at 8:30 p.m.,
Officers working the Third Street Promenade on foot were flagged down by security at the Apple store regarding a woman causing a disturbance. Officers went to the store and made contact with employees who said the woman entered the store and began yelling and cursing. When asked to leave, the woman allegedly began yelling that security stole something from her and that she was going to sue the store. Management asked officers to have the suspect leave. She refused and was placed under arrest for trespassing. She was identified as Kathleen Martin, 55, a transient. Her bail was set at $5,000.
Friday, May 20, at 3:10 p.m.,
An officer assigned to the transit detail was in the area of Aviation and Imperial boulevards in Los Angeles when he saw a man whom he recognized from prior arrests inside the Green Line Bus Terminal smoking marijuana. Officers were called and they detained the suspect. Officers searched him and discovered more pot, prescription drugs belonging to another person and two live shotgun shells, police said. The suspect was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition, possession of marijuana and warrants. He was identified as Rene Banuelos, 26, of Inglewood. His bail was set at $50,376.
Friday, May 20, at 1:14 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 300 block of Colorado Avenue — Sears — regarding a shoplifter in custody. When officers arrived, they made contact with the store’s security who said they saw the suspect enter the store and place several items in an empty Sears bag that she brought with her into the store. The suspect then purchased some shoes and left the store without paying for the other items in the bag. She was detained by security and roughly $700 worth of merchandise was recovered. Officers transported the suspect to jail and she was booked for petty theft and released with a citation. She was identified as Manuela Conceptio Suchite, 59, of Los Angeles.
Thursday, May 19, at 1:30 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 1900 block of 19th Street regarding a report of a family disturbance. When officers arrived, they made contact with the alleged victim who told officers that she was involved in an argument with her son when he grabbed her by her jacket and pushed her into a wall. The suspect then began to shake the victim and eventually threw her to the ground, police said. The suspect then left and the mother called police. Officers located the suspect and he was arrested for battery. He was identified as Calvin Denard Neal-Vaughn, 22, of Santa Monica. His bail was set at $20,000.
Tuesday, May 17, at 3:30 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 300 block of Colorado Avenue — Sears — regarding a report of an employee stealing from the company. When officers arrived, they made contact with store security who said they saw the employee void a customer’s transaction and then issue a gift card for $500 to the same customer, who walked out of the store with the merchandise and the gift card. The employee allegedly admitted to allowing a friend of his to come into the store and select things they both wanted. He then conducted a false transaction at the register and issued the gift card as a favor, police said. The suspect was placed under arrest and booked for burglary. He was identified as Kentrell Williams, 21, of Hawthorne. His bail was set at $20,000.
