On September 12, at 9:30 p.m.
Officers were called to the area of Ocean and Arizona for a Battery that just occurred. A female victim was walking on the sidewalk listening to music on her headphones. A male approached her and said something to her. She did not hear him and he became upset with her and punched her in the face. The suspect fled the location but was found in the area of the 1200 block of Ocean Ave. He was arrested without incident. Derrick Allen Darden, 40, homeless, was arrested for battery. Bail was set at $20,000.
