On July 8 at approximately 9:35 p.m.
Officers were dispatched to 300 Wilshire for an unknown trouble call. The suspect approached the victim and forcefully removed the victim’s keys and headphones. The suspect was apprehended by witnesses to the crime and held until officers arrived. While officers were on scene, they learned the suspect detained was related to an attempt carjacking that occurred at 4th and Wilshire minutes prior to this incident.
Abel Andrade, 23, from Los Angeles, was arrested for robbery, attempted carjacking and possession of a controlled substance.
