Weapon Carrying/Possession Offense
On Tuesday, February 20 at approximately 3:20pm, officers arrived at a gas station on the 400 block of Wilshire Boulevard. Officers witnessed 47-year-old Cleveland Robinson sitting beside a lighter with a pocketknife attached to his clothing.
When searching Robinson, officers determined the length of the blade exceeded the legal maximum. Officers also discovered methamphetamine on his person. Robinson was arrested for illegal possession of a weapon and drug possession and transported to the Santa Monica Jail. He awaits his court appearance scheduled for March 11, 2024.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon
On Monday, February 19 at approximately 8:18am, Santa Monica Police Department officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Lincoln Boulevard regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. According to the reporting party, a male subject, identified as William Jones, struck the victim with a golf club and caused injuries to his legs.
Officers later detained Jones and located the weapon. After the victim identified Jones as the same subject who attacked him, officers arrested Jones for assault with a deadly weapon and booked him at the Santa Monica Jail.
