Incident of the day
On March 21 at about 10:30 a.m., officers were called to meet a resident at a garage in the 200 block of Bay Street.
The resident said she saw a female transient in the garage near her car and carrying items that belonged to the resident. The resident was able to get the items back from the woman, but suspected the suspect may have other things concealed that belonged to her or other neighbors.
The resident watched the suspect walk away and try to open several car doors along Pico Boulevard. Officers ultimately detained the woman and recovered several items from the suspect that belonged to residents at 220 Bay St.
Officers placed the woman under arrest for theft. Ashleye Henyen, of Beverly Hills, had bail set at $50,000.
