The City of Malibu Arts Commission will host a free opening reception for its summer public art exhibition "Coastal Reflections" on Sunday, July 13, at noon at the Malibu City Gallery at City Hall.

The exhibition showcases original works in various mediums by local Malibu artists, celebrating the city's connection to ocean and surf culture.

"This exhibit is a beautiful reminder of how surfing and our coastal lifestyle have always inspired artists in Malibu," said Mayor Marianne Riggins. "I hope everyone comes out to support our incredible local artists and celebrate the resilience, reflections, and connections that art creates."

The opening reception is free and open to the public. Attendees will receive complimentary refreshments and have opportunities to meet the featured artists.

Following the reception, the exhibition will run July 14 through Aug. 22 at the Malibu City Gallery, located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with free admission.

The summer exhibition highlights Malibu's artistic community while honoring the city's coastal heritage and surf culture that has long influenced local creative expression.
