The City of Malibu's CineMalibu free outdoor movie series returns this summer, offering two evenings of family-friendly films, interactive activities and community connection under the stars at Malibu Bluffs Park.
"This is what community is all about," said Mayor Marianne Riggins. "As Malibu continues to recover and rebuild after the wildfires, it's more important than ever to come together and share joyful moments. Events like CineMalibu help us heal, reconnect and celebrate the spirit of our town."
This summer's lineup features Saturday, July 26 with "Shrek" (PG-2001) and Saturday, Aug. 23 with "Scooby Doo" (PG-2002).
Movies begin at sunset with pre-event activities starting one hour before. Admission is free. The Malibu Library and other local partners will host themed activities before each screening. Food options will be available for purchase.
At the City of Malibu booth, attendees can show staff they follow the Community Services Department on social media to receive a raffle ticket for prizes.
Malibu Bluffs Park is located at 24250 Pacific Coast Highway at Malibu Canyon Road.
CineMalibu has been a summer tradition since 2005, offering free movie screenings that bring together residents and visitors of all ages. Seating is first-come, first-served, and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and low-back chairs. Alcohol is not permitted, and dogs must remain on leash and under control at all times.
The event series provides an opportunity for the community to gather as Malibu continues recovery efforts following recent wildfire damage. The outdoor setting allows families to enjoy classic films while connecting with neighbors and local organizations.
