The Santa Monica Airport Open House, in its third year, gives the public a chance to explore what the sprawling facility offers.
There will be flying tours, vintage aircraft, art and projects for kids during the Saturday event, which runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Free parking available onsite.
Many don't realize that there's more to SMO than just takeoffs and landings. There are art studios, an acclaimed theater company in residence, restaurants, the Museum of Flying and a new park complete with an artificial sports field.
