Hello, Downtown Santa Monica,
This Saturday, June 14th, a "No Kings Day" protest is scheduled at Palisades Park from 11am to 12:30pm. The event is one of more than a dozen planned demonstrations across the region that day.
The Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) is in communication with the protest organizers and will closely monitor the event. SMPD has been upstaffed, with a deployment of officers assigned to Downtown Santa Monica and other key areas throughout the city.
The City of Santa Monica fully supports the right to peaceful protest and free expression. However, SMPD will not tolerate criminal acts such as looting, vandalism, or threats to public safety. Downtown Santa Monica, Inc.'s security and ambassador teams will also be present across the district to provide added visibility and serve as extra eyes and ears on the ground.
If you see a crime in progress, call or text 9-1-1. Contact the SMPD dispatcher at (310) 458-8491 for non-emergency matters. To receive real-time emergency alerts while in Santa Monica, text SMVISIT to 888-777 or register at santamonica.gov/alerts.
Thank You,
Andrew Thomas, LPM
Chief Executive Officer
