The Fairview Branch Library, 2101 Ocean Park Boulevard, will temporarily close beginning Monday, June 1, for interior and mechanical improvements.

Enhancements to the Fairview Branch's interior include new carpeting and paint throughout; upgrading of electrical; installation of central air conditioning; improved interior lighting; new shelving for adult books and media collections; a new configuration for the adult computers; added book displays; a more efficient service desk; more self-checkout stations; and easier access to the ADA restrooms off the community room.

The book drops in front of the Fairview Branch will continue to be available for returns and the items will be discharged from borrower's records regularly. During the Fairview Branch's closure, visitors are encouraged to use the Main Library and the Pico, Ocean Park, and Montana Branch Libraries.

Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard, (310) 458-8600.

Main Library Hours: Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.

Pico Branch Library, 2201 Pico Boulevard, (310) 458-8684.

Ocean Park Branch Library, 2601 Main Street, (310) 458-8683.

Montana Branch Library, 1704 Montana Avenue, (310) 458-8682.

Branch Library Hours: Monday through Thursday, noon to 9 p.m.; Friday, noon to 5:30 p.m.; and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Branches are closed on Sundays.

The temporary closure of the Fairview Branch Library for remodel completes the Santa Monica Public Library Branch Improvements' Project that began with the Ocean Park Branch in 2011 and continued with the Montana Branch in 2012.

For more information on this project, visit www.smconstructs.org/fairview, call the Library general information number at (310) 458-8600 or visit the Library's website at smpl.org.
