Art, cannabis, and community collide at The Artist Tree Marijuana Dispensary and Weed Delivery to create a one-of-a-kind cannabis buying experience in Los Angeles. This is far from your typical marijuana dispensary or weed delivery experience, leading you through an adventure surrounded by art and cannabis. Our carefully curated menu and art gallery celebrate the synergistic relationship between the herb, art, and culture in a way like no other. The art on display in each of our locations comes from a diverse array of local artists. Our flagship location lies in the heart of West Hollywood. Recently, we have been able to expand into two new locations in Beverly Hills and Koreatown.
We truly believe that art feeds the soul while cannabis nourishes the mind and body, and that by bringing both together we are encouraging creativity, conversation, and unity. Through each location, we seek to expose community members not just to art, but, specifically, to local artists. Alongside rotating exhibits and displays, we feature permanent murals that provide art and culture from people that live and work here in LA.
The Artist Tree is a living, breathing platform. Artists are exposed to consumers, industry, and staff. While our staff, or guides, introduce consumers to new and exciting cannabis products and help with selections. Our guides are here to help set the vibe and direct consumers where they want to go. When it comes to art, they often relate through creative thinking and experience with the plant itself. One of our guides, Christian Kent explains the relationship between art and cannabis as “...It’s all about freedom. Setting your mind free. Art is able to help you to relax from your mind. Cannabis does the same thing. Both of these things allow you to escape, relax, and think about yourself and life in a different light.”
Our platform highlights local artists and our store serves countless members of the local community, but we also see waves of tourists coming into the store to explore Los Angeles culture and experience recreational cannabis, sometimes for the first time. Kent remarks his favorite part in new (or “green”) consumers as, “Getting to meet different people from different places. Share those experiences. It’s cool to provide service. At the WeHo location, we get a lot of tourists. A lot of the customers that come in haven’t seen legal cannabis like this. They come in amazed and we are able to educate them and also connect with them over cannabis. Help them explore this thing they love but aren’t able to find much information and help with previously. We get to educate people and the job feels like meeting a new friend everyday.”
Los Angeles has a unique culture and the cannabis market and regulations contribute to a certain standard of consumer experience. Many stores disallow the use of cell phones while shopping inside the dispensary. Here at The Artist Tree, we encourage people to share, document, save, and create memories. Use your phone, shoot away! Our guide, Dre Wright says “We have art everywhere and you’re welcome to take your phones out, take photos, and engage with people over art and culture. There’s a lot to see and capture.”
At The Artist Tree, we view art as a source of fuel for questioning life and our perceptions of the world. We also know that cannabis inspires a lot of art! We strive to show our communities that cannabis is friendly, and art creates culture. Both can serve their respective communities in growth.
Come to The Artist Tree and check out top quality cannabis while spending time browsing the store and your local artists’ work!
