The Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) is proud to announce the opening of a Holiday Substation at 1313 3rd Street Promenade. In support of SMPD, American Realty Advisors permitted use of the space. The substation will be open from November 30 – December 31 for the holiday season.
The Holiday Substation will be a vibrant environment for department personnel to work from and for visitors of Santa Monica and holiday shoppers to enjoy. The substation will operate as a fully functioning space for all officers and personnel assigned to the downtown area to work from with amenities of the Public Safety Facility available on-site.
An impromptu ‘Coffee with a Cop’ Café will be on site for shoppers to stop by and grab a cup of coffee with an officer with no set agenda for visitors of the substation to meet officers, become familiar with the police department and have a friendly conversation. Additionally, the substation will have a display area open for the community and shoppers to view various technological resources and equipment used by officers.
On weekends, a gift-wrapping service operated by the Santa Monica Police Department Explorer Program will be available to holiday shoppers. Lastly, in the spirit of our Hide It, Lock It, Keep It campaign, a package valet will be available daily for shoppers to safely lock and secure any purchases while they enjoy their shopping and dining experiences.
