Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Bunny, Snowflake
Snowflake is a confident 3-year-old bunny who knows exactly what he wants: a captive audience! This charismatic showboat will happily preen, thump his hind legs, and toss his toys- as long as somebody’s watching. Between shows, Snowflake is liable to stretch out and relax, conserving his energies for his next performance. He’s sure to provide endless entertainment for the right family. Consider giving him an audition to be your Forever Friend. Snowflake, ID# A059171, is available for adoption at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter located at 1640 9th Street, Santa Monica CA, 90404. The shelter is closed to the public and adoptions are by appointment only by calling the shelter at (310) 458-8595, Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. For a full list of adoptable animals, visit petharbor.com.
Pet Tip Of The Week: Bunny Stats & SMAS Adoption Special
According to the House Rabbit Society and the Humane Society, rabbits are the third most surrendered animals to animal shelters in the United States, after cats and dogs. They are also often harder to adopt out. As a result, many rabbits stay in animal shelters for months with insufficient opportunity for socialization, and inadequate space to roam which is essential for the physical and physiological health.
Rabbits make exceptional pets! Generally quiet, they are sweet and social. Rabbits can live with other pets and are known to form deep bonds with their owners. They get adequate exercise in little space, thrive in small quarters, and keep themselves clean by grooming regularly.
The Santa Monica Animal Shelter has an abundance of wonderful rabbits waiting for their second chance. While usual adoption rates for rabbits are $200, they are offering a special adoption rate of $20 per rabbits. The rabbits have been spayed/nurtured and can be adopted and go home on same day. Come meet them at the shelter and you will see that they live up to the reputation as being fun loving and absolutely adorable!
