Officers were called to the Rite Aid located in the 2400 block of Pico Blvd. The suspect took a beer from the cooler area, put it in their back pocket and walked out of the store without attempting to pay or pay for the item. Once in the parking lot, they drank the beer. Rite Aid loss prevention placed the suspect under private person’s arrest. Carlos Felipe Calderon, 60, homeless, was arrested for shoplifting. Bail was set at $5,000.
