A new fast-casual burger chain on the north end of the Promenade is hoping to fill its restaurant space to the brim for its grand opening.
Burgerim, an Israeli-based burger chain known for its customizable burger sliders, will be holding its grand opening next month on the Promenade, located in the former home of Stop’n Cafe.
Their Saturday, July 27 grand opening will be a large event, seeing the restaurant give away Lakers tickets, a 55” TV, Burgerim Gift Cards and more to customers. Additionally, all customers that come in during that day and time will receive a 10% discount.
Though the restaurant has been soft-opened since May, the grand opening will be used to boost community engagement and earn customer — locals and tourists — trust.
“We want to use this as an opportunity to the community,” Lynnae Jackson, the franchise owner of the Promenade Burgerim said. “This time [between soft and grand opening] helped us solidify our staff and nail down the menu. We’re excited to be here and serve Santa Monica.”
Burgerim will be joining a crowded field. Santa Monica has several restaurants known for their burgers with HiHo Cheeseburger, Del Frisco’s, Pono Burger, Umami Burger, Big Dean’s and Pier Burger all in the nearby area. On the Promenade, competitors include Johnny Rockets and Steak ‘n Shake. Other fast-casual options include the likes of Chipotle, Lemonade, the burgeoning Gallery Food Hall and more.
Jackson remains confident in Burgerim, despite the competition.
“Honestly, once you have one of our burgers...that’s all I’ve got to do is get them one of our burgers,” Jackson says with a laugh.
“I didn’t invest in just any franchise, I chose this one because I liked the product. We have tasty, high-quality, affordable burgers and you can get them anyway you like. Vegan, pescatarian, we have something for everybody. I know we have a better product than anyone else like us.”
Burgerim is located at 1237 3rd Street Promenade. Burgerim’s grand opening will be held Saturday, July 27 from noon to 4 p.m.
