On August 17, 2017 at about 9:55 p.m.
Officers responded to a radio call for service regarding a disturbance at a residence in the 2200 block of Colorado Blvd. Officers arrived on scene and determined a brother and sister were involved in a physical altercation. The subjects got into a verbal argument that escalated when the male subject became upset and began to physically assault the female victim. The suspect hit and kicked the victim multiple times and attempted to strangle the victim. The suspect was taken into custody. The suspect also had an outstanding “no bail” warrant for assault with a deadly weapon. Elijah Aaron Thomas, 26, from Santa Monica was arrested for battery with serious injury and no bail warrant. No bail was set.
