On Sept. 1 at about 12:24 a.m., Santa Monica police officers responded to a radio call for service regarding a subject creating a disturbance, yelling and throwing items at a building, in the 600 block of Ocean Avenue.
Officers arrived and made contact with a subject in the 100 block of Idaho Avenue. The subject identified himself to officers and indicated he was on probation for theft.
A search of the suspect revealed an identification card and credit card belonging to another person. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Santa Monica jail.
Joaquin Alvarez Jr., 22, of Montebello, was issued a citation for appropriation of lost property.
