On April 16 at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 32nd and Pearl street in regards to a hit and run that just occurred.
A witness described seeing a fleeing suspect park in the driveway of a home on the 2400 block of 32nd Street and run. The suspect was described as a female in her 40s wearing a pink T-shirt and blue jeans.
As officers were speaking to bystanders, a woman matching the suspect description began walking toward officers. The suspect, later described as Mary Van Dyke, 51, of La Canada, called out that she was the suspect driving the vehicle that fled the scene.
Witnesses identified Van Dyke as the person who was driving recklessly and committed multiple hit-and-run offenses.
When officers spoke to Van Dyke, it was determined that she was driving under the influence of drugs.
Van Dyke was booked for driving under the influence, misdemeanor hit and run and reckless driving. Bail was set at $15,000.
