Incident of the day
On Saturday, March 28, at approximately 6:18 p.m., officers responded to a call of a non-injury traffic collision at the Chevron gas station at the corner of Lincoln and Olympic boulevards.
The reporting party stated that approximately 20 minutes earlier she was driving her vehicle southbound on Pacific Coast Highway when the driver of a white van side-swiped her vehicle. The victim followed the suspect while honking to call the suspect's attention.
The suspect, Juan Palacios Hernandez, 58, of Los Angeles, ultimately stopped at the Chevron station. The suspect displayed objective symptoms of intoxication, failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
