Wednesday, June 1, at 2:38 p.m.,
Santa Monica police officers responded to a bus stop located on the 700 block of Pico Boulevard regarding an assault and possibly a strong arm robbery that just occurred. When officers arrived, they made contact with the alleged victim, a 17-year-old girl, who told officers that she had just left school for the day and was nearing the bus stop when a woman suddenly came from behind and attacked her. The teen said she was struck several times in the face and body before being kicked in the head by the suspect, who fled on foot. The girl told officers that she knew a second suspect who was at the scene because the two go to school together. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the female suspect mistook the victim as being someone else during the attack. The suspect was located and placed under arrest on June 9 at 3:35 p.m. on the 1800 block of 14th Street. She was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and participation in a criminal street gang. She was identified as Mayra Arroyo, 24, of Santa Monica. Her bail was set at $70,000. No charges have been filed against the second suspect as the case is still under investigation.
Sunday, June 12, at 10:05 a.m.,
Officers responded to the 2600 block of Third Street regarding a report of a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they made contact with the alleged victim who said that she saw a woman and a man in her carport trying to steal her bikes. When she questioned them, the suspects rode off. She told officers that some parts of her bike were missing. While searching the area, officers found a woman matching the description of the female suspect. She was detained and identified by the victim. Police searched the suspect’s bag and said they found bike parts belonging to the victim. Officers placed her under arrest and she was booked for receiving stolen property, petty theft, possession of marijuana and a probation violation. She was denied bail. The suspect was identified as Kelly Lin Osborn, 26, a transient. The second suspect is still outstanding.
Saturday, June 11, at 1:52 a.m.,
Officers responded to the area of 12th Street and Marguerita Avenue regarding a report of an armed robbery that just occurred. When officers arrived, they made contact with the alleged victim who said he was standing outside his vehicle talking with a friend who is employed as an armed security guard in the area. While talking, a van pulled up and stopped. A man emerged from the sliding door of the van with a gun and ordered the victim to empty his pockets. As this was going on, the friend ducked behind a tree and drew his own weapon. The suspect jumped back in the van and drove off without taking anything. During the investigation, officers located a vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 matching the description given of the van. Officers stopped the van at Centinela Avenue and Venice Boulevard. Officers searched the van and found a BB gun. The victim and his friend identified the suspects as those who tried to rob them and all three were placed under arrest and booked for attempted robbery. Bail was set at $50,000 for each suspect. They were identified as Roderick Fitzpatrick, 21, of Los Angeles; Eric Levert Redd, 21, of Torrance; and James Limont Henderson, Jr., 20, of Los Angeles.

Officers responded to the 300 block of Colorado Avenue — Sears — regarding a possible shoplifter in custody. When officers arrived, they made contact with store security who said the suspect entered the store with a bag and proceeded to place several items in it. The suspect allegedly left the store without paying for the items. Security detained her until police arrived. She was placed under arrest and the property was recovered. She was identified as Louise Gilliland Kistler, 49, of Santa Monica. Her bail was set at $20,000.
Friday, June 10, at 6:08 p.m.,
Officers responded to the 1500 block of Second Street — Parking Structure 8 — regarding an attempted bicycle theft in progress. As officers were driving to the scene, they were informed that the alleged victim was chasing the suspect down the street. Officers located them in the 200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard and detained the suspect. Officers spoke with the alleged victim who said he was returning to the parking structure to get his bike when he saw the suspect trying to cut his lock. The suspect ran when he saw the owner. Officers placed the suspect under arrest and he was booked for petty theft, possession of burglary tools and a probation violation. He was identified as Jorge Cabral, 40, of Inglewood. His bail was set at $10,000.
Thursday, June 9, at 7:47 p.m.,
Officers were on patrol in the 2100 block of Grant Street when they observed a man on a bike commit municipal and vehicle code violations. When he saw the officers, the man allegedly jumped off his bike and began walking. Officers made contact with the suspect and learned that he was on probation for possession of a controlled substance. During a search of the suspect’s bag, officers said they found several prescription drugs in a bottle for which he had no prescription. Officers placed the suspect under arrest and he was booked for possession of a controlled substance, a probation violation, riding his bicycle against the flow of traffic and riding a bike on the sidewalk. No bail was set. The suspect was identified as Kenneth Allen Proctor, 49, a transient.
