A dry cleaner, house of worship, grocery store and a coffee house are among the finalists for City Hall’s Sustainable Quality Awards.
For 15 years, the Sustainable Quality Awards have honored local organizations and businesses that make extraordinary contributions to the community. The SQAs celebrate business achievement in economic development, social responsibility, and stewardship of the natural environment.
“The Sustainable Quality Awards [is] a wonderful event where we honor versatile, dynamic, responsive and profitable businesses that are the driving force for Santa Monica's Sustainable city goals and contribute to the on-going integration of environmental, social and economic successes,” said Laurel Rosen, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce.
The finalists are:
• Fair Cleaners
• Co-Opportunity
• Gensler Architecture & Design
• Living Homes
• The Natural Resources Defense Council
• Pacific Park
• Sheraton Delfina
• Santa Monica College’s TCBY/The Coffee Spot
• The Doves Hair Art Team
• Unitarian Universalist Community Church
• West L.A. Print
Judging for the awards will take place in April and winners are scheduled to be honored at the Chamber of Commerce Awards luncheon on May 5 at the Sheraton Delfina. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.smchamber.com.
