It happened again. Your husband told the same story he told you half an hour ago. Not only that, but he has been more anxious than usual, accusing a friend of stealing his golf clubs when you later found them in the hall closet. No longer able to convince yourself that he is just getting older and more forgetful, you make an appointment with a neurologist who diagnoses him with early-stage Alzheimer’s. Now, in your new role as his caregiver, you are going to need some help.
“This story and countless others like it are what our staff hear every day from the families and caregivers who bring their loved ones to Wise & Healthy Aging’s Adult Day Center here in Santa Monica,” said Molly Davies, LCSW, President and CEO. “We take pride in caring for them like family.”

Open five days a week, lunch included, WISE staff provide safe, enjoyable and stimulating activities for older adults in varying stages of memory loss in both English and Spanish, while enabling caregivers to work, tend to other tasks or take a much-needed break. Caregivers can also benefit from one of several support groups that meet both in-person and via Zoom.
In addition to our Adult Day Center, WISE offers a wide range of services for older adults that include The Club (social programs and classes), our Diner (hot lunches), Care Management (connecting seniors to services to help maintain independence at home) and advocacy through our Long-Term Care Ombudsman and Elder Abuse Prevention programs.
