A man gained access to the lobby of an apartment building on 4th Street at Ashland Avenue around 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 3. He looked around the lobby and then proceeded to steal a small package, that was addressed to someone else, from on top of the mailboxes. Residents said there have been a number of package thefts from this building’s lobby in the days preceding this crime and they are looking for any information on the suspect, described as a white male, likely in his late 20s or early 30s. He has reddish-brown hair and a beard without much of a mustache. He appears to have tattoos on his arms and on the lower part of the back of his neck. On the day of the crime he was wearing a black The North Face t-shirt, light-colored sagging jeans, black sneakers, a beige Herschel Supply Co. backpack, and a gold chain necklace. Santa Monica Police have this and other evidence; please contact them
at 310-458-8426  with any further details about the identity and whereabouts of this suspect.
