Santa Monica Public Library presents an in-person mindfulness program for kids and their families at the Main Library on Thursday, December 2 at 5:45 p.m. Learn about mindfulness you can use during the holidays. Wear your pajamas, bring a favorite stuffed animal and enjoy storytelling and mindful activities. This program is free. Space is limited. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org
The program will be led by Tina Carlson, an IMTA certified mindfulness teacher with UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. She is a university guest lecturer, has worked on studies with UCLA’s Schools of Medicine, Public Health and Education, and has extensive experience teaching mindfulness to teachers, staff, parents, and students of all ages. Recently, she completed a series of videos for six California school districts, was the consultant for Random House’s upcoming The Cat on the Mat, and enjoyed creating family programs at the Hammer Museum. Her program at the Main Library will help children cultivate focus, relaxation and compassion.
