Orchestra Santa Monica and Music Director Roger Kalia return to live performance with a special admission-free concert. The orchestra will present an early preview of its collaborative film*, “We Gather: Black Life in Santa Monica told through Music, Visuals, and Narrative”. Iain Farrington’s arrangement of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 for 15 musicians will also be performed, providing an intimate feel to the listening experience and revealing Mahler’s chamber-like writing as each musician is treated as a soloist.
Free; Advance ticket registration required; Proof of full vaccination and photo ID needed at the door for admission; Please see Orchestra Santa Monica website for program details, COVID protocols, tickets, and free parking information. https://www.OrchestraSantaMonica.org
