Picnic for the Park on June 4 is a free, part-virtual, part interactive event to support the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area – the largest urban national park in the country.

During Picnic in the Park, attendees will hear from NPS rangers about their conservation work and enjoy music by Santa Monica-based singer/songwriter Abby Posner (https://Abbyposner.com) in a program broadcast online.

How SAMO Fund supports the mountain lion program, what the trail crew does, why the native plant nursery is so important and how youth mentorship helps develop lifelong environmental stewards will all be covered in the program.

The event will be broadcast live at 5 p.m. to anyone who registers in advance. To access to the event, guests must register at https://samofund.org/picnicforthepark

On the day, attendees can create their own socially-distanced Picnic for the Park with friends and family outdoors. We suggest they share photos on social media with hashtag #Picnicforthepark

Panera Bread restaurants in Agoura Hills and Woodland Hills are hosting fundraisers on June 4 for this event, so guests can easily organize their own picnic! Guests identify as being with Santa Monica Mountains Fund when they order between 4pm and 8pm on June 4th, and Panera will donate 20% to SAMO Fund. Use Promo Code PRFund at checkout. Take-out and delivery options both available. To order: https://www.panerabread.com/content/panerabread_com/en-us/home.html?overlay=sign-in.

Broadcast production expert, Gregg Dunham (https://greggdunham.com), has volunteered his time to work with SAMO Fund to create the event which will last about 30 minutes.

Santa Monica Mountains Fund (SAMO Fund) works to protect and encourage appreciation and understanding of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
