Malibu Association of REALTORS’ cleanup crew joined bright and early recently in support of the Adopt-A-Highway program in Malibu.
M.A.R. promotes keeping our community clean, and encourages members to sign up and participate.
Stephen Udoff, M.A.R. president, has been involved in the program since 2014. “It’s a great way to create a positive connection between the environment and the community.” Joining Stephen were REALTOR members and directors Jerel Taylor and Susan Cosentino.
The unsightly presence of trash along PCH leaves an undesirable impression to tourists and residents. It can pose a danger as it blows onto the highway and can endanger wildlife, especially small animals that can get trapped in soda can rings. In addition, toxins can leach into the water systems and soil. Thanks to the collaborated effort of volunteers, the positive impact is great along our coast.
M.A.R. sponsors the two-mile stretch from Las Flores Canyon to Big Rock.
As a long-time Malibu local, Susan Cosentino adds, “I love being involved in the community and it’s another way that I can help make a difference.”
