An unidentified suspect led Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase beginning on Culver Boulevard in Culver City and ending in Santa Monica, late Sunday night. The unidentified suspect was traveling at a high-rate of speed heading northbound on the 405, when the suspect subsequently led highway patrol officers on a high speed chase through a quiet Santa Monica neighborhood. It was around 10 p.m. when neighbors were startled by the sound of a loud crash, followed by police sirens, as the suspect lost control of his vehicle on the corner of 21st and Marine Street, crashing into a parked SUV. The suspect fled the scene on foot, running towards Penmar Golf Course and evading police for several minutes before being apprehended by the Santa Monica Police Department. As police searched the suspects vehicle, they allegedly found a gun under the accelerator pedal, but no one was harmed in the incident.
