On October 29, 2019 at 10:50 p.m.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Santa Monica for a radio call of a possible stabbing. Investigation revealed a male was not stabbed but punched in the face causing a laceration above his eye. The attack was unprovoked. Joseph Robinson, 22, homeless, was arrested for battery. Bail was set at $50,000.

  1. Why, when a perpetrator is homeless, must the SMDP writers always point out that fact? Do the writers not realize that this is a discriminatory act which serves only to perpetuate the myth that the homeless are violent?

    This man’s housing status has nothing to do with what he did.

    I also wonder why there is no mention of what preceded the act?
