Westside Family Health Center (WFHC) will honor its President/CEO Debra Farmer’s 20 years of leadership at a Mother’s Day Weekend Luncheon on Saturday, May 11 at the UCLA Faculty Center.

During the past two decades, Farmer has helped WFHC grow from a small women’s clinic to a Federally Qualified Health Center with five satellite sites and a mobile medical unit. Farmer has also overseen WFHC’s technological advancement and the implementation of electronic health records as well as the expansion of primary health care services.

WFHC is embarking on an exciting new chapter as it relocates its main clinic and administrative offices to a 24,000 square foot facility in Culver City in the fall/winter of 2019. The new location will allow WFHC to offer a wider range of health care services and also serve as a gathering and workshop space for the community.

Farmer has worked for much of the last 35 years in the non-profit sector and is known as a tireless health care advocate at the local, state and national levels. She currently serves on the boards of the Human Relations Council Santa Monica Bay Area; City of West Hollywood’s Human Services Commission; Westside Coalition. Hunger. Housing. Health; Santa Monica College Public Policy Institute Advisory Board, and as the president and board chair of Clinic Mutual Insurance Company. In addition, Farmer remains active in the Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County and the California Primary Care Association, where she has served in various capacities including past board chairs.

WFHC’s Mother’s Day Weekend Luncheon will celebrate of Farmer’s time at WFHC, the impact she has had on the community and the bright future ahead for WFHC in its new home.

The luncheon and program will take place on May 11 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the UCLA Faculty Center, 480 Charles E. Young Drive East, Los Angeles, CA 90095.
